For me, this is a definite change from Michael McBride books I've read before. Following Revelations, there are the horsemen of the apocalypse, death, disease, plague, monsters and survivors. Warning: this book does end as a cliffhanger.I enjoyed reading it and have purchased the remaining two books in the series.

Very cool, yet terrifying. I loved it
What a page turner. If you are a fan of apocalyptic fiction without pulling any punches this is he book for you. Everything from the Four Horseman to a violent new take on the Rapture this book gets it all in one fast paced secular take on the end of the world. You must check this book out!
Good pacing to the story A little hard to keep characters straight as chapters are not sequential by characters and p!ace. McBride seems to be partial to write time that. Just takes some getting used to.
I just finished the complete The God's End Trilogy The Fall, Blizzard of Snow, and Trail of Blood.
I deferred beginning until I had all three and then read through them without stopping except for essentials like food and sleep! Sometimes, I did not breathe as I was immersed in the reading!
There may be a Biblical Revelation-like set up, but it is by no means a 'religious' writing. There are fervent prayers and then there are the 'Jesus!' and 'Oh, My God!' type!
This is now my ALL TIME FAVORITE FICTION WRITER - MICHAEL MCBRIDE.
When I wanted a chill, I once read Stephen King, but now I realize most of his writing was just gross-out stuff or, as in The TommyKnockers, a vehicle for how many times he could use the acronym for Frequent Use of Carnal Knowledge.
This trilogy is so well crafted it is a delight to read just for reading. I'm an English scholar, but not perfect by a long shot. My command of English has been modified and sometimes tainted by living in foreign countries and learning their languages. American English is my first language, but often I will us a comma in the incorrect place or use another diphthong from another language for the sound for which I'm looking. I can stumble through new writers without the means to afford good editing, but a well written book is always a delight!
Mr. McBride does not leave dangling story lines. If you are following a character or event in his writing, be assured it will be tied up all nice and neat.
I have difficulty following a long list of characters. I did not with The God's End books.
This is a wonderfully filling read for those that eat books like I.
Mr. McBride there's no need for you to look up to the masters of sci-fi, fantasy, fiction, thrillers! You have surpassed most and stand with the best! You are now one of those giants!
